Who we are

Drehwerks builds and sells Porsche restomod parts and conversion modules.

This site is run by Drehwerks Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17298221. Our registered office is Harvest End, 3 Gunnice Farm Barn, Longdon, Tewkesbury, England, GL20 6AW. We are the controller of the personal data described here.

Questions about this policy or your data:sales@drehwerks.com.

The short version

  • We collect what you give us: an email address when you ask to be told something, your details when you send an enquiry, and what a shop needs to take and deliver an order.
  • We do not run analytics or advertising trackers on this site, and we do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
  • Asking us about a part or sending an enquiry does not put you on a mailing list. Signing up to hear when we open does, and the form says so before you press the button.

What we collect, and why

When you sign up to hear when we open

You give us an email address and, if you choose, which of our programmes you are interested in (997 or Overlander).

Signing up puts you on our mailing list. We will email you when Drehwerks opens, and after that send occasional build updates. The form says this above the button, and pressing the button is your consent. We record when you gave it and which programmes you chose, and send one email to confirm.

The list is held in Resend, the service we send our email with. See "The mailing list" below for how to leave it.

When you register interest in a part, request a document or open a guide

You give us an email address. With it we record what the request was about, and a few things the page already knows:

  • the page you were on and the programme it belongs to;
  • the vehicle you have saved on the site, if you saved one;
  • how you first arrived at the site: the referring address and any campaign tags in the link you followed. This is held in your own browser for up to 30 days and only reaches us if you submit a form.

We use this to answer the specific request, and to understand which parts people are asking about. Our basis is your consent for the message you asked for, and our legitimate interest in knowing what to build and where our visitors come from.

We deliberately do not record your IP address or your browser details with these requests.

When you contact us or send an enquiry

You give us your email address and whatever else you choose to put in the form: your name, your vehicle, your message, and for a build enquiry the answers about your car and the list of modules you put together.

We use this to reply, to quote and to keep a record of what we told you. Our basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in keeping a record of enquiries.

When you buy from the shop

The shop, basket and checkout are provided by Shopify. When you place an order we and Shopify collect your name, billing and delivery addresses, email address, telephone number if you give one, what you ordered, and payment details. Payments are processed by Shopify and Stripe. Card details go straight to them and are never seen or stored by us.

We use this to take payment, deliver your order, handle returns and warranty claims, prevent fraud, and keep the records the law requires of us. Our basis is performing our contract with you and meeting our legal obligations (tax and accounting records).

To deliver an order we pass your name, delivery address and contact details to the carrier delivering it.

The mailing list

You join the mailing list by signing up to hear when we open, by ticking the updates box on one of our other forms, or by signing up through a newsletter block. We send the opening announcement and occasional news about Drehwerks. We record when you agreed. Our basis is your consent.

To unsubscribe, use the link at the bottom of the confirmation or of any email we send, or write tosales@drehwerks.com at any time, including before we have sent you anything. Unsubscribing does not affect anything else you have asked us for.

Technical data

Our hosting provider keeps short-lived server logs, which include IP addresses, to keep the site running and secure. We do not use them to identify visitors.

Cookies and what is stored in your browser

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.

Cookies we set:

dw-sanity-draftLets our own editors preview unpublished pages. Never set for visitors.8 hours

dw_vehicleThe car you saved, so the shop shows parts that fit it.

dw-shopify-cartThe reference for your shop basket, so it survives a page change.

dw-capture-seen, dw-enquiry-seenStops the same form telling you twice that you have signed up.

These are needed for features you have asked for, so they do not require consent, and you can clear them at any time in your browser settings.

When you move to checkout you leave this site for Shopify's, which sets its own cookies to run the checkout and prevent fraud. Shopify describes these in its own cookie policy at shopify.com/legal/cookies.

More detail is in our cookie notice.
